FearEffect
I just installed a new wireless adapter and I am getting the 'Problelm with unauthorized wireless adapter card'. I have a Lenovo y400. Is there a way to flash the bios for this?
Expertize
You know you should REALLY learn how to search the forums before posting questions like this. Lenovo has always been known to blacklist their Wlan adapters. Anyways... here you go. http://forum.techinferno.com/lenovo-ibm/2874-lenovo-y400-y500-unlocked-bios-wlan-whitelist-mod.html
forestdruid
Even getting a wireless card from their whitelist may not work. I got the proper id Broadcomm and it still said it was blocked and I had to remove wireless card. The bios unlock may be the only option for any upgrade. Guest
Ain't it just crazy that some OEMs pull this kind of crap? I've never understood the logic behind blocking customers from doing something as harmless as using a different network adapter in their laptop... it's just nuts that they think they have the right to be such control freaks.
