DARKWORLD
So basically VSYNC in any game caps fps at 40 or 48 depending on performance and it cuts about 10 to 15 frames for no reason, while GPU usage drops... Here's how it looks on the graph, first half with VSYNC ON and the other with VSYNC turned OFF: Can anyone explain me what is going on, please? System: 3630QM, 8GB RAM, GT650 SLI, Windows 8.1 U1. EDIT: So I just installed my old Windows 7 copy to a different drive, updated it, installed latest nvidia driver and this problem is absent in Windows 7... Why is that so, how VSYNC working differently in W8?
Lizzo
i have the same configuration on my y500 and i don't have that issue... well, i mostly play league of legends and in that game it has on screen fps that shows me it's always locked at 60fps when vsync is enabled
DARKWORLD
I think thats because this game isnt demanding at all. I played it on Intel graphic processor locked at 60 fps, so for even single 650M I doubt its even an issue.Maybe if you play something more demanding this will occur. slate
From my understanding enabling V-Synce forces your graphics source to function at a certain level to maintain performance and prevent screen tearing. Like you said, League is not very graphics intensive, whereas Witcher or other demanding games require more power.
