USB-C has a PCI-E adapter?

I've been reading the USB-C isn't just USB 3.1. It also has the ability to be a full displayport cable and has an adapter so it transfers it PCI-E data.

I think we haven't fully explored this yet to its maximum potential. Maybe we need to wait and see? Look up the articles that have come up in the past couple days. I think there was a trade show where they demonstrated this.

In the future maybe. But keep in mind usb-C has only a 10Gbps rate compared to TB2 that is 20Gbps or even 40Gbps if TB3 will ever come... Not to mention that only 1 device currently supports it. But since everyone is betting on usb-C to become widely adapted maybe it would be worth the effort to make egpu via usb-C happen?
